Each Minecraft version uses a different amount of RAM. Do you want to create an old school MC server 1.8? Then you can get by with at least 1GB RAM. If you're heading for version 1.14 we recommend at least 1.5GB. An MC server with the latest version uses at least 2GB of RAM, so we recommend you to get a 2GB RAM server for the latest version. You can always change your version via the control panel.
Number of playersThe number of players on your server largely determines the amount of RAM you need. An MC server with a few friends surviving can easily run on a low amount of RAM. A larger server will also need more RAM.
Plugins and ModsEvery plugin or mod you install on your Minecraft server uses RAM. The more of them you install, the more RAM it will use. How much RAM it uses differs per plugin or mod because the amount of activity differs per plugin or mod. Do you want to use mods? Then we recommend at least 5GB of ram. For a server with a few plugins you can use at least 2GB of ram.
All packages can be upgraded to a larger package at any time. We think it is important to have flexibility when it comes to hosting. Your server may become busier and you may need more RAM. Therefore, you can easily upgrade to a larger package through the customer panel. No data loss!
